We've seen the difference in price between these two approaches amount to over 4 cents/kwh. .

A second and extremely powerful tool we use with our clients is our knowledge of which power products and providers may be specifically suited to our clients. There are a variety of ways to buy power in Texas that, depending on a client's power consumption, offer significant cost advantages over the alternatives. An agriculture operation may consume power in the evening, but not have a high enough load to justify the utility installing a meter that reads usage every 15 minutes. We would offer that client the solution of installing a 15 minute "IDR meter" so that they are able to take advantage of their off-peak load, thus reducing their costs by as much as 40%. There are literally hundreds of ways we help our clients reduce costs beyond the initial reverse auction.
